Established way back in 1852, this North Columbus town has a rich heritage of architectural styles. It experienced explosive growth in the late 20th century and continues to be a hotspot for rich family life. Thirty-two percent of the population is under the age of 18.
Within its 13.3 square miles, Hilliard offers 27 parks, 41 miles of trails, a quaint downtown with a variety of restaurants, coffee shops, and shopping, seasonal street fairs, concerts, and community festivals.

THINGS TO DO IN HILLIARD OHIO
Hilliard Station Park
With family-friendly splash fountains, outdoor picturesque cafés, and an amphitheater for live music, Hilliard’s Station Park has become the prime location for community events, such as Food Truck Thursdays and Adult Recess, a night offering dinner, drinks, and no-kids access to the fountains and hopscotch games.
Center Street Market
This locally owned and operated community market is located in historic Old Hilliard is home to multiple vendors offering a plethora of local food, desserts, coffee, and unique shopping all in one place. Notably anchored to the market is the Award Winning Crooked Can Brewing Company, which offers on-site hand-crafted beer. Joining all of this in the center is a vast outdoor patio with tons of seating and firepits which makes this perfect spot to drink, shop, eat and socialize.
Starliner Diner
The diner, which first opened its doors in 1995, offers outstanding “Cuban food with a twist.” Long time customers often rave about their Cuban French Toast and now infamous pork tenderloin sandwich. With a colorful and vibrant atmosphere and quaint outdoor patio, it’s easy to understand why Hilliard residents have made this the go-to place for good conversation and great food.
Old Hilliardfest Art & Street Fair
On the second Saturday of September, the festival features live music, kids’ games, carnival rides, great food, a car show, a Kid’s Fair, offering from many of the area’s skilled artists. The local businesses are meeting and greeting their neighbors at this fun community event.
Rodger A. Reynolds Municipal Park
With eight acres of amenities, this park is home to several pools, including a lazy river, and an interactive children’s pool. Additional amenities include a small amphitheater, baseball, lacrosse, and soccer fields; basketball, tennis, and beach volleyball courts; as well as a 9-hole disc golf course; fishing pond; fitness/walking path; and picnic area. Needless to say, there’s something here for everyone.
Early Television Museum
Go on a retro walk down the history of the TV. Their website boasts “mechanical TVs from the 1920s and ’30s, pre-war British and American sets from the late ’30s and ’40s, post-war sets from 1945 to 1958, and early color TVs from the 50s.” The TVs are mostly in working condition and showcasing original programming from the time when the receiver was top-of-the-line technology.
Fall Festival
This yearly event held at Roger A. Reynolds Municipal Park is an afternoon of fun for the whole family. This autumn festival features games, live music, axe throwing, body art, petting zoo, pumpkin decorating, and food trucks and so much more.
